Spring is finally here! The days are getting longer, the flowers are starting to bloom, and it’s the perfect time to reset your home.
A clutter-free space can do wonders for your mood, energy, and focus. But let’s be honest—decluttering can be overwhelming. You'd probably rather be out on the hiking trails, enjoying the change in seasons, but if you set aside a little extra time to reset your space each day, you'll be so glad you did.
This guide will walk you through an easy Spring Home Reset so your space feels brighter, lighter, and more organized.
Spring is nature’s way of pressing the reset button, and your home deserves the same refresh.
Decluttering now can:
Reduce overwhelm and stress
Make deep cleaning easier and more effective
Create space for what truly brings you joy
Help you transition into the season with ease
One of the simplest ways to make your home feel refreshed is by inviting a little nature inside. Studies show that exposure to greenery and natural light can boost your mood, spark creativity, and promote a sense of well-being.
Open the windows to let in the fresh air (unless Alabama spring surprises us with a cold snap!)
Swap out heavy winter blankets for lighter, breathable fabrics
Add some greenery—a potted plant, a fresh bouquet, or even a simple bowl of citrus fruit on the counter can work wonders
Use seasonal scents like citrus or floral essential oils to make your space feel even fresher
Last month, I shared a post called Why Decluttering Feels So Hard and How to Make it Easier because decision fatigue plays a major role in decluttering your home.
But if you’re only needing a few simple strategies to make the process much more manageable, try these out this spring.
Start small—just 15 to 30 minutes at a time. Pick one area (a drawer, a shelf, a single cabinet) and see how much you can accomplish. Remember — we’re going for progress, not perfection!
For each item you pick up, ask yourself:
Do I use this regularly?
Does it add value to my life?
Would someone else benefit from it more than I do?
If the answer is no, it’s time to say goodbye.
If you’re not sure where to begin, focus on high-traffic spaces first—like the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. These are the places where a little decluttering makes the biggest difference.
